Green Pearl in the Middle of Europe

sLOVEnia: Green. Active. Healthy!

Slovenia (Slovenian Slovenija) is a small green pearl, situated on the crossroads of Europe. The country is combining on the small territory Julian Alps on the North, Adriatic coast on the Southwest, Karst on the West and Pannonian plain on the Northeast. The mother nature has mixed all that on only 20.273 square kilometres.

Ljubljana, the capital with 300.000 inhabitants, has a very central position and is an ideal base for daily trips all over the country. The recommended way to explore the destination is to rent a car, otherwise towns are connected with local bus and train transportation. The city centre, with its main square (Prešeren’s Square) named after the Slovene poet, is located by the river Ljubljanica. This is a very lively and lovely part of the town surrounded with many bars and restaurants, which are a central place of happening. Not to be missed in Ljubljana is the castle situated above the city centre. You can walk to the castle or take a cable car.

Slovenia is known on its scenic beauty, mountains and lakes, karstic caves, boutique towns and great gastronomy. It offers pictures panoramas with vistas on Alpine picks, incredible waterfalls and mountain lakes and emerald rivers. The karstic land with its caves brings you to lively Mediterranean towns on the Adriatic coast. Slovenia is still one of the prettiest hidden and undiscovered destination in Europe, with variety of culinary and cultural charm. #FeelsLOVEnia

  1. Well it is very nice and beautiful, people don’t speak very much in foreign language, but there are ways around that. Lovely small piece of Europe!
