The Balkans’ Water Rhapsody

Lake Skadar, or better to say a green – blue water rhapsody, is located on the border between Montenegro and Albania and it is the largest lake at Balkans. Two-thirds of lake belongs to Montenegro and one-third to Albania. The lake is surrounded by mountains and it is close to the Adriatic sea.

On the Montenegrin side, where we discovered this majestic place the area is protected by a national park. Our adventure started in Virpazar, where we took a wooden-boat lake ride. Nature lovers and outdoor adventurers will be definitely fascinated.

Visiting lake Skadar is ‘a cherry on the top’ of a trip in the wild Montenegro.
